Still recommend the interior conditioning. Last time it made my old car feel like brand new! They got pretty much every speck of dust and the leather looked beautiful. They also collected everything from under my seats and put it in a bag. Some of that stuff I hadn't seen in years. Plus now they give a $25 discount on smaller cars (2 doors) for the interior conditioning treatment.
I originally came to Total Recon to have my 2006 Porsche Cayenne detailed ($250 detail) to remove all the micro-scratches/swirl marks that covered the 11 year old black vehicle. I really couldn't believe that it turned out looking like a brand new car again! Then a week later, my wife collided with a concrete pillar in a parking garage while she was backing out of a parking spot. I researched auto repair shops based on Yelp, Google, and Angie's List reviews. Two shops rose to the top: it was Total Recon and a body shop in Bethesda (purposely not naming the company). I visited the body shop in Bethesda for an estimate (they were also recommended by my insurance company USAA), but I was less than impressed. I couldn't find a parking spot due to a poor location, the place seemed "dumpy", and all the cars were sandwiched within inches of each other. Additionally, I had to make an appointment to get an estimate later that week while Total Recon did it on the spot within 20 minutes. I decided to go with Total Recon. A great decision! They repaired my wife's accident, and took care of some other aesthetic issues that were on my to-do-list. The repairs were what I thought they would cost, Cory and Will were very professional, and most importantly, the vehicle looks better than it ever has. A nice touch was a complementary loaner car while I waited for my vehicle - that took me by surprise when they had a nice SUV for me with no hassles. The whole experience was fantastic, and I highly recommend Total Recon for detailing and auto body repairs. I would like to complete my review with saying that Cory and Will really took great care of me. A majority of my interactions were with Cory so I would like to relay a special thanks to him for his caring demeanor, responsiveness, and true professionalism.
Came back for a basic conditioning after they did a great job with my old car. Website states the basic conditioning is best for newer cars, and they did a great job with my not-so-new but well loved car. The wash was was perfect and they added a coat of wax. They did a good job vacuuming every corner of the interior and even my trunk. They also did a great job wiping down each panel and dash, it was close to their interior detailing work. Website states 1.5 hours, when I scheduled the treatment they stated 1-2 hours (it was the day after Christmas), but it took almost 2.5 hours. Ready to pay, the guy shook my hand and said it was on the house. Had to tip the guys and hopefully I left enough. Might have to buy them lunch or something in the future.
Overall definitely a place I would go to many times over in the future.
I went to Total Recon after my car was damaged in a parking lot. pretty heavy damage to driver side front from a large pick up truck. I have a 3 series BMW. It is an older car but I still enjoy it. Will at Total Recon, as was the whole staff, was super friendly and helpful. Excellent customer service experience. The most important part, Will was very informative and kept me up to date on the progress of my repair. When it was finished my car looked perfect. I was very happy with the level and work and fit and finish. They also detailed my car after the repair. I don't think my car has been that clean since I bought it in 2008! I cannot praise them enough. Thank you Will and Total Recon for excellent work and customer service. If I ever need more work, I will definitely bring back to Total Recon.
The waiting room is solid. Bunch of chairs, an aquarium, coffee, Wi-Fi, and a newish TV.
This place does a good body job and I would probably give them three four stars for that, but I wouldn't give a single star if you need other things fixed/replaced like active headlights which requires skilled mechanic to replace and are very expensive. I don't think their mechanics are properly trained. Mine was installed incorrectly and burned the bottom of the bulb housing and now it's shaking every time I go over the bump or driving over rough surface at night. There is no way to fix it other than replacing it at this point, and it's over $1100. I was told that it was installed correctly and tested on the wall lol. Well, you can't test it on the wall unless you driving to the wall, it is active headlight and only gets activated at around 10 mph. Besides incorrectly installed headlight, I had to come back several times to get windshield fro haze that was not cleaned after it was painted, then roof lining reinstalled, then sun visor reinstalled, etc.. I don't think one should return for such things and it was probably my fault not inspecting it thoroughly when the car was handed back to me, but on the other hand you can't see those things right away. I guess it was my experience with them and it won't be the case with others, but I'm yet to hear back from them about $270 that I was suppose to get reimbursed for my headlight bulb reinstallation at the dealer. That's fine, they probably can't afford to reimburse their mistakes. Make sure you check EVERYTHING when getting your car back!
This place is incredible. From the moment I walked in I felt important. Very professionally run from management down to the guys in the shop. I will never take my vehicle anywhere else. You shouldn't either!
