Coffee enthusiasts - this is the place. I've been drinking Mayorga coffee since 2005. I used to frequent their cafes in Silver Spring and Rockville but was saddened when they systematically closed their retail locations starting circa 2010. However, now they've expanded their hours at their new roasting facility, which houses a full-service coffee boutique (not really a cafe: no real seating or food). Their beans are consistently top notch and come from a variety of curated farms with which Mayorga has established lasting, sustainable partnerships. The baristas are always friendly and knowledgeable. The location offers everything from beans to pour overs to growlers of cold brew to brewing accessories. Here, you can get your daily coffee fix or stock up on beans and cold brew for the week.
Note that their beans can also be found online, as well as at the local Costcos and some regional supermarkets.
Family owned. Supports small farmers and indigenous people. Best of all, their coffee is excellent. It is so much better than Starbucks that there is no comparison.
Good customer service. Also, enjoyed watching the workers bag the coffee through the window. The barista also told me my coffee was just roasted within a few days. Great fresh coffee. Great for coffee snobs.
I've been buying my beans from mayorga for years, since before the moved down the block to their current location. London has recently helped me expand my horizons with spot on recommendations and good old fashioned customer service. I have gained a wealth of knowledge on roasting and brewing coffee from the Mayorga team over the years. I can't recommend them enough. If you like good coffee, you'd be doing yourself a disservice by not stopping by.
Excellent coffee - as close to the source as you can get. Mayorga imports directly from South America and a few other areas. I found them after I realized that all the smaller places just retail for the large retailers like coffee-bean- direct. This is the most authentic coffee you can get.
This is a singular local business that focuses on fostering community wherever they work in the world. Moreover, their beans, coffee, and service are truly excellent, without par in the area. Try it once. If you appreciate coffee, you'll become a customer for life.
